Fire Prevention Week has been observed since 1922 and has been recognized as a platform by which to educate the public about the importance of fire prevention. This year, Fire Prevention Week will be observed Sunday, October 9th through Saturday, October 15th. The Bridgewater Fire Department is excited to announce that we will be hosting an Open House in recognition of Fire Prevention Week on Saturday, October 15th from noon to 2:00 pm.
Our Open House will be at Station 2 (Prattown) at 774 Plymouth Street. We will have demonstrations, refreshments and activities for the whole family! Join us for demonstrations of our tower truck, check out the fire gear, meet Chief Levy and our firefighters, explore the SAFE trailer and learn to dial 9-1-1. We will be taking appointments for our senior outreach program, Bridgewater Seniors First and offering free blood pressure checks. Kids can get free glitter tattoos and enter for a chance to win a ride to school in a fire truck! Watch our firefighters demonstrate CPR, an AED and Narcan administration. Fire extinguisher demonstration is scheduled for 1:30 and we’ll show you how we use the Jaws of Life to rescue accident victims at 2:00.
If you didn’t have a chance to purchase one of our Breast Cancer Awareness fundraiser t-shirts, we will have a limited number at the open house available for $20 on a first-come, first-serve basis.
We hope you can join us for this fun community event!
