Residential Smoke Alarm & Carbon Monoxide Detector Regulations
26F – Smoke Detector Inspection Hours: Tuesday through Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.*
To schedule a 26F Smoke/CO inspection, first visit the online permitting portal. When the application is submitted and paid, please click here to schedule the inspection. If you are having trouble submitting a permit application, click here for our assistance guide.
* All 26F inspections will be scheduled for Tuesdays through Thursdays between the hours of 8:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. As we make every effort to be on time for the scheduled time of your inspection, please allow the Fire Department extra time because of unforeseen events and call volume. Please be ready 15 mins prior to the scheduled inspection time, so if we are running early, we can complete the inspection.
Propane Storage Tank, Fuel Oil Tank, and Oil Burner Inspections:
It is the responsibility of the installing contractor to call 508-659-1415 and schedule the inspection within 7 days of completion of work. Bridgewater Fire Department will make every effort to schedule inspections in a timely manner, but after 30 days Bridgewater Fire Department does not inspect any installations, and the responsibility will be on the installing contractor for the integrity of work performed.
Bridgewater Fire Department does not certify any Storage Tanks, Fuel Oil Tanks, Oil Burner and Boiler Installations or Oil Tank Installations. Bridgewater Fire Department inspects installations for Code Compliance ONLY and does not certify the integrity of the tank, boiler or any work completed.
Hot Work/Fire Watch Details:
All hot work/fire watch details must be scheduled a minimum of 48 hours prior to the start of the detail. Daytime fire watch details are $60.00/hour with a 4-hour minimum. Nights, Weekends and Holidays are $80.00/hour with a 4-hour minimum. Please see the attached PDF.
